Dodecanese: the complete list of islands

The south-eastern chain along the Turkish coast: Rhodes and Kos carry the airports, and around them sit some of the most remote inhabited islands in Greece — Kastellorizo is closer to Kaş than to any Greek port of size. "Twelve islands" by name; rather more of them in fact.

The main checklist counts 19 islands here — every inhabited Dodecanese island you can actually travel to. Populations are permanent residents, which is its own kind of surprise: some of the best-known islands are among the emptiest in winter.

The excursion islets

2 more islands of the Dodecanese sit in Pelagos’s optional expert tier — places you visit for an afternoon rather than stay on, scored separately so they never inflate the main count: Ro, Saria.
